Pillow-making and Giveaway Day

Okay, okay, so I know it’s just a slightly-tapered-at-the-corners square, but I’m pretty excited about this adorable little pillow I managed to whip up last night with some superhero fabric and grey linen. I’m thinking about offering them in the Etsy shop. I was selling more quilts for a while, then got lazy busy and haven’t had the time to restock. Maybe pillows would be a good start? I love this Superkids fabric from Ann Kelle enough that I didn’t even do anything special to it. Just some curved corners, French seams and a linen back–bam, a new pillow.

Maybe when I use the pink version, I’ll do some actual patchwork, but maybe not. I don’t know, these things are sorta organic. Plus I’m kind of a huge fan of Ann Kelle’s designs and can barely tolerate cutting into them. I mean, seriously, how cute can they get?! The girl in glasses? Swoon.

So to celebrate both Giveaway Day on Sew,Mama,Sew! and how I just adore her designs, I’m giving away a fat quarter bundle of Ann Kelle’s Urban Zoologie line. Cute!!!! It’s all mixed up with some Remix argyle and chevrons and stripes and it’s gonna be awesome, whatever you manage to do with it.

    Holy moly that Superkids fabric is awesome! I’m bookmarking it right now. I MUST get some for my soon to be 4yr old nephew.
    I mostly work with vintage and repurposed fabrics. I love vintage finds. However, I’m always delightfully surprised when a new designer line catches my eye… which does happen often.

    Ann Kelle is my favorite because I sew for children who are ill and in the hospital. They love superheros so I use her fabric especially for the girls as there is no other young girl superhero fabrics.
