This is who I am.
I've been parenting solo for past the twelve years, learning and growing alongside my children: S, the 18-year-old son and A, the 13-year-old daughter. In 2006, our trio headed to Vietnam to volunteer in two orphanages, a decision that affected each of us greatly. In 2009, we returned and we have plans to return yet again in 2012.
Through the years, we've dealt with all the good and bad of being a one-parent family. I've grown as a mother, a writer and a woman.
Solo parenting isn't for the weak or timid.
