I write–whether it’s in my journal, a blog, for my book, or an article assignment, it doesn’t matter much. I just need to do it.
I’ve been working on a travel memoir since before the wave of popularity with them and I will likely miss it completely. It’s a slow and painful process at times, though watching it come together is pretty thrilling. Even if it’s just for my own satisfaction of writing something so big. What is it about, you ask? The short answer is “Our trip to Vietnam.” The long answer is that it’s about the desire to follow one’s dreams and pursuing happiness however it comes and my own struggle to find the balance between being a mother and being me.
In 2008, I co-founded the Zeitgeist Writers League with Jenny Furniss; we still meet as a small group monthly to critique our book projects.
And when asked I will always write about single parenting and traveling, and sometimes how the two work together.

And I love making digital stories. I just don’t get to do it enough.
I've been parenting solo for past the twelve years, learning and growing alongside my children: S, the 18-year-old son and A, the 13-year-old daughter.
