I am just one of the more than 13 million single mothers in America.

Our trio at graduation, Class of 2011.
Back when I became a single mom, the kids were just the little munchkins in the black & white picture above, all of one and six years old. Young’uns, as my dad would say. The son had just started first grade when his father and I split and now all these years later, he’s finally graduated with me beside him along the way. It’s been a long road, one that hasn’t ended yet (I’ve got five more with the daughter).
I've been parenting solo for past the twelve years, learning and growing alongside my children: S, the 18-year-old son and A, the 13-year-old daughter.
